Love Poems to Love
A lifetime of reflections on love
WENDY CADMAN
Description:
Join Wendy Cadman, as she reflects on the experience of love.
An original poetry book written as a personal journal throughout her life; from age 7 to 77, she depicts the human experiences of love and life in various ways. Welcoming it, giving it, losing it - reflecting on every aspect of this all-encompassing essence in our lives.
She is honored to share her journey with you here. May this book help open and heal our hearts to further peace, understanding, and ultimately, love.
BLACK HORSE
black horse, glistening animal existence;
though you are in your prime and trained
for the most disciplined, exquisite performance --
tuned perfectly to the will,
timed precisely to the artifice of man --
still I release you
into the green hills, to wander, to be
only for yourself. Somehow I have
lost the will to ride you.
the reflection of the sun on your coat
(so deeply, intensely black)
dazzles my eyes, now I become the grass waving
with your motion, and the warmth and odor and ripple
of your flesh, and the light.
